Apply for the mortgage (done in x weeks)
- Bank or Broker?
- Apply for Mortgage
- Fill out Forms, Pay for application and appraisal
- Credit Check
- Asset Verification
- Employment Verification
- Understand the Closing Costs
- Pay to Lock in a Rate
- Bank Appraisal of property
Go to Contract (donĀe in 3 weeks)
- Seller’s lawyer draws up contract
- Buyer’s lawyer reviews and Amends Contract
- Sellers sign contract
- Buyers sign contract
- Buyers put down half of the down payment into seller’s lawyers escrow acct.
Close Property
- Title search is Done
- Mortgage is Approved
- Buyer’s Lawyer and Bank/Broker Schedule the date, time and place
- Final Walk through property prior to closing
- Buyers, Sellers, Lawyers and Brokers meet to close
- Papers are signed, Buyer puts down the rest of the money and closing costs
- Title is transferred, Keys and handed over
- Electric account is notified within 24 hours
