Caveat Emptor -- "Buyer, Beware!"

Case Study III: A Second Look

Say you're smart enough to use a buyer's-agent from the start. He suggests a property that sounds like your dream house--but you look at the square footage, and you think it's too small.

He's been working with you for awhile, and he knows you well. He knows what quality of life issues you most value. He also knows the house, the area, the local amenities, the community, the history of the property. In short, he knows what you want.

Be Aware, Buyer!

The Buyer's Broker

Looking for a home? Or property to build on? You'll no doubt look at listings. And you'll probably conclude--correctly--that there's a lot you can't find out on your own, and you'd be better off with a real estate professional.

True. But without a buyer's representation contract stating otherwise, that real estate agent will most likely be working for the seller.

There is a lot to know about purchasing a home or property beyond just finding a house that you like.

Case Study I: Peace and Quiet

You've been longing for peaceful country living. You find your dream house on a quiet, tree-lined lane, which dead ends at a lovely, bucolic, 70-acre meadow. You're sure that will keep traffic noise to a minimum; all you can hear are the birds and the crickets. Peace and quiet at last!
